Build in 1890, this one room school house was the center of education in Sharon Township.  Farm kids walked or rode horses, or were driven to this school in horse drawn carriages or wagons to learn the 3 “R”s.  The only thing missing now is the outhouse.  The building is still solid 122 years later.  It was closed in the 1950’s.  The windows were updated at some point, but the basement window is open to the world, so the Class of 2012 probably consists of neighborhood wildlife.  (I decided that making this photo black and white was kinda’ fitting.)
